Our Social media survey says…

Our Social media survey says…

…insufficient time to plan, post and review. (So, what is the answer?)

We trust the autumn term is progressing along for you…
As we start to approach December, with the arrival of some much needed Christmas cheer, we take a deeper look at the results from the social media school survey we conducted at the end of last term.
The findings offer an interesting insight and highlight similar patterns of activity.

The survey was sent out to a wide selection of schools via AMCIS (Admissions, Marketing and Communications in Independent Schools) members schools, direct to schools in our network, to MATA (Multi Academy Trust Association) via social media, and also made available via a series of social media Paid ads across the UK (see below one of the post graphics used).

The online survey consisted of 9 multiple choice questions (see the results link), and was run for a period of four weeks during May and June 2022.

We discovered that…

  • 65% of schools don’t use a social media scheduling tool to plan content
  • Approximately half of schools don’t plan out their social media content
  • A good proportion of schools (41%) have used online paid adverts, however they are generally administered by internal school marketing who struggle for time and know-how.

The results

In the survey, we asked schools which social media platforms they use and discovered that incredibly 97% of responses actively use Facebook as their main social media channel.
