WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL...
Now that we are back to school, this is the perfect opportunity to strengthen our skill sets and ensure we are in the best position to start the year off. Over the last year, we have been proud to share information that has hopefully helped and inspired your school trust to shine even brighter.
Looking ahead we want you to consider what you could implement into your school’s or trust organisation’s marketing strategy to ensure you are reaching your full potential.
A Summer to bring focus...
This summer we have been busy working on projects to help improve our service for schools and trusts, in particular, to reach and guide more schools with their digital marketing. Speaking of digital marketing, this summer has seen a lot of buzz around the introduction of a certain feature, any guesses as to what this might be?
Of course, it’s AI.
Since the rollout of Artificial Intelligence across the tech industry, many businesses are now trying to adopt this tool into their marketing strategies.
But how is AI shaping the way we think and act? And how can you use this in your own marketing strategy…?
Find out how below 👇
What do schools need to know about Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
The first thing to know is that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is only getting smarter! We know that for many schools and trusts, the digital world can be especially tricky to navigate, with concerns over plagiarism, inappropriate use, and a plethora of other concerns.
On the flip side, it offers a range of benefits including generating text, graphics, video, language voice over, supporting planning and tailoring communication…and more!
So, how best to use AI within the school marketing setting?
Well, we think the book The Coming Wave by Mustafa Suleyman and Michael Bhaskar helps to set the scene and talks about how we need to act now and to prepare for the future.
From a starting glossary of terms, to insight on the future possibilities, pitfalls and benefits of this new piece of technology to support school marketing.

Book review: The Coming Wave
"You really could spend months getting distracted by all the hype and news around AI. Or you could just read this book. Insightful and thought provoking, AI certainly does present a 21st Century dilemma - a great read.
The breadth of references, and the depth in which it goes into technologies like AI are unrivaled. It distills everything the reader needs to know into one digestible package. The technology, sure, but also the ethics and politics and mind-bogglingly consequences. As someone who works in school marketing, we are already seeing the first impacts of AI on the entire sector and how it can transform media communications and work in the space. What this book showed is how wide and deep those changes are likely to be in the next few years.
It does not always make for comfortable reading, but it leaves you with a sense of the world having been opened up and the future brought into focus".

AI in schools: We set the task to give a real-time AI example
THIS IS HOW AN AI SEES IT (a reference to page 3 from The Coming Wave book)
We asked our AI test bot the question:
“Offer 3 compelling reasons why schools should consider embracing AI now”.
The reply… (no human editing)
1. Personalised Learning: AI can help tailor education to individual pupils’ needs. By analysing their learning patterns, strengths, and areas that need improvement, AI-powered tools can provide customised learning materials and strategies. This ensures that each pupil receives the attention and resources they require to excel, creating a more effective and inclusive learning environment.
2. Efficient Administrative Processes: AI can streamline administrative tasks in schools, such as attendance tracking, grading, and scheduling. This frees up valuable time for educators to focus on teaching and mentoring pupils rather than being bogged down by paperwork. Additionally, it can help identify trends and insights in data, allowing for more informed decision-making in educational planning.
3. Enhanced Accessibility and Inclusivity: AI technologies can break down barriers for pupils with special needs or those who face language barriers. Speech recognition and natural language processing can assist in transcription services, making lectures and lessons more accessible. Additionally, AI-driven translation tools can facilitate communication between teachers and students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
In summary… Embracing AI in education (schools) has the potential to revolutionise the learning experience, making it more personalised, efficient, and inclusive for all pupils. It’s important, however, to ensure that the implementation of AI is done thoughtfully and with a clear focus on ethical considerations and data privacy.

A digital solution for schools (with AI)
Having worked with a number of schools and trusts we came to understand that the number one issue facing them is time. How can managing website user data and social media channels be streamed-lined and administered from ONE place.
Following this feedback we put our heads together to develop a creative solution that would finally solve these issues. The result?
Our 2023 launched service: The Digital Empowerment Solution (formerly Digital Dashboard Enterprise Service) or DES for short.
DES is an online dashboard solution aimed at revolutionising the way schools, trusts & organisations manage their digital presence.
It’s a powerful tool that incorporates AI, offers planning, scheduling through to bespoke analytics reporting. The service will help you to optimise your website, social media, and Paid Ads activity to support you in reaching your digital marketing goals.
